Have you heard the legend of the 4th Nail? Neither had I until I mixed Searching for the 4th Nail, a documentary about Gypsies. The director George Eli requested my services, and we worked closely together to make sure his unique story was told.
Focusing on the dialogue is crucial to a good audio mix; it’s what drives the film and tells the story. To hear that dialogue, independent films usually require a lot of audio cleanup, and this was no exception (especially with interviews shot on the streets of New York). Along with the help of producer and editor Nikhil Melnechuk, we were able to add energy and vibrance to the film and let the audience immerse themselves in the story.
